Our quick turn philosophy, with attention to detail, has helped many data center professionals meet tight deadlines. 

Being centrally located in Minnesota, most cable orders arrive within one-to-three days from the ship date.  And in those rare cases expedited shipping is available as well.

How Does PDU Cables Do It?

PDU Cables priority is to provide the highest quality power cables with the fastest delivery possible.  To accomplish this, PDU Cables has a large staff of trained assemblers managed by leads and supervisors experienced in the manufacturing process, aided by a set of process controls designed to ensure that tasks are performed correctly, completely and efficiently, the first time every time. 

To accomplish our quick turn goals, PDU Cables maintains 30 days’ supply of inventory, much of it on consignment.  Our purchasing department and inventory control specialist oversee our ongoing materials needs and maintain contact with dozens of vendors and re-order supplies daily.

Within our 86,000 square foot facility, PDU Cables operates three production lines over two shifts.  The different lines are oriented to accommodate both large and small orders, allowing us to isolate unique orders and still achieve a quick turn.  Running two shifts allows PDU Cables to keep manufacturing power whips well into the evening, regardless of how late the orders are received and entered into our system. 

For orders received after our shipping carrier cutoffs, we use our second shift to manufacture cables and have them ready to ship the next day.  This frees up capacity to accept, manufacture and ship more orders the same day, including orders received only a couple of hours before the shipping cutoffs, which is especially helpful for those last minute small orders that always seem to pop-up.   

Even with this quick turn philosophy, PDU Cables stringent process controls ensure each cable is tested, labeled, and cleaned prior to packaging, allowing us to achieve an incredible 99.8% on-time delivery. 

Our ability to produce UL listed, 100% tested power whips with such short lead times is one reasons why so many data centers and electrical contractors have chosen to have PDU Cables supply their power distribution cables instead of manufacturing it themselves.
